As you may have already guessed, when working and new mommies with children under 5 were surveyed, and housekeeping was the most popular task we would gladly hand off. When instructing your Mommy Assistant on what to clean, how, and what to use, be very specific. Work alongside the assistant once and write down as much as possible.
Cleaning Supplies and Tools
You will provide the cleaning supplies and tools needed for the mommy assistants unless otherwise agreed upon.
Remember that it takes time (from start to finish) to wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry. If your assistant is doing multiple loads of laundry, you will need to make sure to allot the appropriate amount of time. If your assistant is doing laundry, it’s important they start with laundry to keep it moving through the cycles the entire time they are at your home. Make sure to specify if you need them to use special detergent, washing instructions, ironing, etc.
If your assistant is not going to be at your home for the length of time it takes to complete a cycle, you can always begin a load or two for them.
